You'll be Fine

I wrote this earlier in a few minutes for some fun. Not the best poem in the world and not the best flow, but I like the meaning of it and had some fun.

Everything has changed, the past is ancient.
Edmund’s gone now, forever absent.
With him died more than his existence,
It has been broken; my life’s balance.
Dad beats me more as the days come and go,
He is bitter and lost, but I don’t blame him though.
I don’t want his life, and the farm won’t produce.
As I look at life, I think what is the use.

On the bright side my friend is comforting.
She says a lot of kids have bad beginnings.
She has told me time after time,
“Adolf, just wait, you’ll be fine.”

This is the kind of poetry I like. Not real rhymy, (if that's a word) but hardcore. I loved the how it was told in Adolf's eyes. I could really feel it. Thank you for that.

No, it is a first person poem from the character of adolf hitler. His brother, edmund died, and his father beat him as their farm failed. Just showing that any kid with a terrible childhood (millions do) have the potential to be dangerous people.

Wow. This poem was incredibly powerful to read. I really liked the simplicty of it, and the subtle use of rhyme - I didn't pick up on that until the fourth or fifth line. I liked your choice of name at the end, too - Adolf. As in Adolf Hitler, or is it just a random name plucked from the air?

Anyways, I loved it!

Keep writing,
